'Delicious. Still.'  (the fantastical tale of Adam & Eve)

 

In the garden of Eden, God created two magical trees:  If you eat from the ‘tree of life’ you will live forever and if you eat from the ‘tree of Knowledge, you will die that same day; Adam chomped away at the apples and lived for 930 years albeit, outside of Eden. 

 

This painting was executed around the time of his 685th Birthday, long after God fashioned them suits of skin, put enmity between Adam and his wife, made woman subordinate to man, greatly multiplied the pain of childbearing, cursed the ground with thorns and thistles and long after the marking of Cain, who was left to wander the earth having clubbed his little brother…and before either got a chance to eat from that other tree!
